Daniel K. Tennant was born on July 23, 1953 in Ann Harbor, Michigan. At the age of five his family moved to New York State where he has lived ever since. He graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in painting (magna cum laude.) He also earned an MS in art education at Syracuse
Tennant's work has been published in the following magazines: Airbrush Action, Airbrush Magazine, Airbrush Art and Action, Watercolor Magazine, The Artist's Magazine, American Artist Magazine and American Arts Quarterly. His work has appeared in ten different books
He has exhibited his still lifes at Eleanor Ettinger (New York), Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts (Binghamton, NY) Louis Newman Gallery (Beverly Hills), M.A. Doran Gallery (Tulsa, OK), Capricorn Gallery (Bethesda, MD), Bernarducci-Meisel Gallery (New York), The Savannah College of Art and Design, Cazenovia College Art Museum, Gallery Henoch (New York) and Louis K. Meisel Gallery (New York)
He has shown at the Everson Art Museum, Joe and Emily Lowe Art Center (Syracuse University), and Palmer Museum of Art (Penn State), The Corcoran Gallery of Art, The New Britain Museum of American Art, The Arnot Art Museum, The Delaware Museum of Art, the Butler Art Institute and Kresge Museum of Art
