Biography
Christine Comyn
Born in Tielt, 1957
The Belgian artist, Christine Comyn, combines her passion for contemporary women's portraits and her interest in art and history. Her most recent work is inspired by the life of Marie-Antoinette, who was an idolized princess at the royal houses of Vienna and Versailles in the 18th century. Her contemporary paintings evoke feelings such as tenderness, infatuation, vanity and melancholy
Christine's digital compositions incorporating icons associated with Marie-Antoinette's life further enabled her to marry modern day "princesses" with the last queen of France. This technique makes her ideas even more visible and profound.
